Gangster Royalty – King of Boys Premiere

Hey everyone!

So you probably haven’t noticed but this year, I took a huge break from the Red Carpet. I’ve been battling with anxiety and I often find myself extremely anxious at Red Carpet events so I took a step back and focused on creating my content. However, when you hear “it’s a Kemi Adetiba film” and you hear “the theme is Gangster Royalty” you will definitely snap out of any mental block and go all out!

I was styled by Tinu Adesugba, the Creative Director of 245 Creative in a gorgeous unisex Orange Culture SS16/17 royal purple suit. Purple seemed like a fitting colour so we knew that was the base of our look! But it wasn’t enough – we decided to go all out with platinum blonde hair for the first time too, so let me know what you think about platinum blonde on me – yay or nay?! Either way, it was fitting for the look! We also went for a dark smoky eye with a nude lip to balance the look and this was our take on Gangster Royalty:

To finish it off, I needed a sweet date (lol)! So I went along with the Original Gangster himself (who’s song is also the soundtrack for the movie) and member of the Sweet Boys Association, Sess!

MY REVIEW

Without spoiling it for you as it’s not out until the 26th, King of Boys is definitely in my top three favourite Nollywood movies out this year. Sola Sobowale is such an AMAZING actress and honestly, she deserves all the global recognition she can get for her talent! I loved the casting, I felt it worked brilliantly and the storyline gave me goosebumps. Not only was it at the core of the reality of violence in Nigeria today, it was relatable and served as an eye opener in to the bigger problem. It was entertaining, but also an educative movie that everyone should see.

Kemi is such an amazing director and her vision is just something else! It took her two years to make this come true and I’m so glad it did. You’ll definitely catch some of your favourites in it along with moments of comedy!

And Reminisce!!! What!!! He killed it!

That’s all I’ll say for now! Let me know what you think when you watch it!
