Hey everyone!
I know I’ve been MIA :(. After #TheFutureIsFemale I had to take a break to focus on finishing my degree and starting work! Any way I’m actually really excited for this post 🙂
So after several sleepless nights, tears, sweat and submitting my dissertation ten seconds before the deadline (thank you God), I made it I made it I made it!!!! Now in January I started thinking about my career path and my mind has always been set on working in the entertainment industry as an OAP (On Air Personality), so I applied for a job and after two screenings I was given the opportunity to work with Spice TV! (DSTV Channel 190 for those who wanna tune in)!
I’ve been having the best time and I’ve learnt so much about myself and also the world in general that I want to share with you:
- NOTHING IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT GOD
- THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE
- YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND THE PATH TOWARDS YOUR PURPOSE AND DESTINY
- TV PRESENTING IS ONE OF THE HARDEST BUT FUNNEST THINGS YOU CAN DO
- TRIAL AND ERROR IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS
- HAVING YOUR FACE BEAT EVERY DAY IS NOT AS EXCITING AS IT SEEMS
Okay, well having your face beat every day is exciting cause you get to take good selfies (can’t lie), there are definitely perks to the job!
But I never realized how hard the job would be, honestly. I can’t complain though because I’m loving it but there are so many steps that I have to take now. The first one is building my personal brand. Laila JS is no longer an individual but a brand and I have to ensure that I represent my brand in the most positive light at all times. So if anyone has any tips and tricks PLEASEEE let me know.
The second is time management. Sometimes I may be told about an event 24 hours before the event. I have to ensure that I put my job first and prioritize effectively in order for me to make the most out of this opportunity. I also have to ensure that I get enough sleep which is proving difficult as I’ve become the PR manager for a new club in Lagos. But hey, once again I can’t complain!
Any way, I’m going to start a new series on the blog soon, this was just to keep you updated on my whereabouts! Lots of love always xxx
Hello Laila, congratulations 🎈
I might have just learnt a few things from you that I’m definitely going to stick with all the way. Thank you very much.
