I can get quite lazy sometimes and I found myself become unhealthy, not only physically but also mentally. This year, I told myself I would keep myself busy during the day and turn things around to improve my day as much as I can. I wrote a list of a couple things I would start doing and honestly, it’s really helped me so I want to share it with you!
1)WALK TO YOUR DESTINATION
Okay, obviously only if your destination is within walking distance and by walking distance I mean anything under about 30-35 minutes. I used to get the underground to university every day and sometimes Uber too, but I’ve started walking to classes now. Especially when I’m going in in the morning, I feel refreshed and so energized after a 20 minute power walk.
2) PLAN YOUR DAY
Whether this is mentally or by writing it down, take a couple minutes out every morning to map out your day. Even if it’s a rough plan, having an idea of what you’re going to do and when will give you a structure that’ll avoid laziness. I often plan my days mentally and it’s helped me to know when I have free time to fill up and when I’m really busy. Knowing my busiest times in advance helps to relieve a lot of stress and anxiety because I’m mentally ready for it.
3) A BOTTLE OF WATER IN THE MORNING
Okay, even before this epiphany of mine, I’ve never been able to start my day without a bottle of water. It gets my brain going, has me feeling less weak and it’s the healthiest way to start your day! Don’t wake up and drink coffee straight away (I mean, I love coffee but water first) – the difference is a miracle.
4) SHOWER IN THE MORNINGS
To me, this one is a no-brainer. I’ve never been able to start my day without a shower but I do know a few people who do and honestly, they look asleep all day. It doesn’t matter if you’ve showered very late the night before, always have a shower in the morning! You’ll feel so much cleaner and much more ready for your day! Also use certain products in the morning such as tea tree oil that opens up your pores and revives you more than you know.
5) ACHIEVE ONE GOAL
Try to achieve at least one goal every day. It may be a small one or it may be a big one but aim for it once you wake up and really work towards it! For example, I set goals such as publishing one blog post per day, drinking eight bottles of water so on and so forth. At the end of the day when reflecting, it really motivates me to want to upkeep a healthier lifestyle if I know I’ve accomplished something!
